How much does the installation cost?
The installation cost for our E2 units begins at $2,495. This price applies when you have a new switchboard in place and the installation location is within 3 meters.
Do I have to buy my own charger?
No. As certified EVNEX installers, we are equipped to handle all commissioning and warranty. While we highly recommend EVNEX as a New Zealand product, we are experienced installing various units, including the Tesla Wall Connector.
Is its safer?
A properly installed Electric Vehicle Charger (EVC) is safer than a 3-pin plug because it is specifically designed for the high power requirements of electric vehicles. EVC installations have features like grounding, circuit protection, and compliance with safety standards to minimize the risk of electrical hazards. In contrast, a 3-pin plug may not be designed to handle the same power demands, increasing the chances of overloading circuits, electrical faults, and potential safety issues.
How long does the installation take?
Our highly experienced technicians strive to deliver the highest quality installation possible. The installation process typically takes around 4 hours to complete. During this time, we will need to disconnect the power for approximately 30 minutes. Our technicians are skilled and efficient, ensuring a reliable and efficient installation of your electric vehicle charging unit.
How much faster is it than a 3 pin plug?
A 7.4 kW charger is significantly faster than a 3-pin plug for electric vehicle charging. While a 3-pin plug typically delivers power at around 2.3 kW, a 7.4 kW charger operates at approximately three to four times the power level. This means that the 7.4 kW charger can charge your electric vehicle approximately three times faster than a 3-pin plug. However, charging times can still vary depending on factors such as the vehicle's battery capacity and the starting state of charge.
